Day #17 Bath Redo

Did two very important things today.
First, we finally got this wall together,
ready for tile, paint, and wallbard transitions.

This wall was such a mess,
there were to many levels of uneveness.
So, Terry just tore out the whole wall,
and we started fresh.

Didn't want to have to do that,
but it ended up a good thing.

All done, all even, and ready to go.

Second big thing we did was reglaze the bathtub.

This was a yucky job, but saved us hundreds of dollars.

First washing with special cleaner
they give you in the kit.

Then scrubbing with fine steel wool.

I told him to stop taking pictures of my butt.

Second wash,
then steel wool scrub.

Third wash,
then steel wool scrub.

Ready for paint.

Terry had to do this task.
The fumes were so bad,
I could hardly stand it in there
for more than a couple minutes at a time.

The spray can is dripping badly at this point.

You have to catch the drips right away.

The first coat is done.
Wait 15 minutes and start the second coat.

By this time the kids are
complaining wildly about the smell.

The second coat went alot better than the first.

There it is,
showroom new...

now three days of curing time.
