Project house sits idle again, as we take care of family health crises. Here we are walking into St. John, Oakland, with Terry's brother. His health is failing, and we took him to the emergency room last night.
Lots of tests and lots of waiting. There's my schmoopsie, being very patient (just glad he's not the patient).
Now the brother is safely tucked away in the hospital (having more tests), and it's time for me and Terry to work some magic on this old hermit's house.
He has a slight hoarding problem, and we are going to make his house clean and livable again.
Can this bathroom be saved?
Of course!!!
Bleach, bleach, bleach.
Terry tore out the ages old toilet, and we will bring in a new one.
His dog was very old, and recently put down, but there are cans and cans of dog food, and bags and bags of treats left in the house. We are donating all of it to the Humane Society tomorrow.
There were also enough bottles and cans around the house to pay for the new toilet. We loaded them up, and took them in. When I took this picture of Terry, everyone in the recycling bay thought I was nuts. Ha ha, who cares what they think. This is how I get my awesome blog pictures !
Kidding aside, I have censored much of what is happening with Terry's brother, for the sake of his privacy. He is not a participant on this blog, and we respect his anonymity.
Hopefully with the right treatment, he will be well enough to come home in the next week, and we will have the house all cleaned up for his return.
Tomorrow, we must take care of his bills and banking, shop for a toilet, visit him, drop off donations to the Humane Society, more house cleaning, and if I'm feeling really freaky... I'm going to see what's going on in this bachelor's refrigerator.
Carry on...
