Saturday started off without a hitch.
Terry got to work on the porch,
trying to figure out the metal roof.
We have spent more money on this than we wanted,
and he has had a rough time trying to make it work.
In the middle of the day,
mom called and said her garage door opener was not working,
so we got some new batteries for the remote and headed over there...
We changed the batteries,
we investigated every possible problem...
but came up without a solution.
So, the professional garage door guys will have to take over this one...
After we dealt with this problem,
we got a call that Tim needed cigarettes down at the shelter.
We stopped at the smoke shop
and bought him a pipe and some loose tobacco.
This should last him a few days...
and off we go to downtown Detroit...
There's the Motor City Casino.
We would rather go there,
but we went straight to the shelter.
Tim seems almost happy to be in this situation.
He seems to take it all in stride.
And he was just happy to have some tobacco.
Back home, back to the porch...
I stood back and looked at the progress on the metal roof,
and OH MY GOD!
I had to tell Terry that I hated it and it looked awful.
This was my idea,
and I thought it would look good, but I was wrong!
I thought a metal roof would add a modern touch to the house,
but it looks like a shed in the back woods of Kentucky.
I'm so sorry honey.
Epic fail. My fault.
Calling a roofer this week to finish the job with some shingles...
and maybe even get the whole house and garage reshingled.
Gotta count my money...
